The comparison between the two can hardly be made though. To get 100 calories of brocolli you need 3 and 1/4 cups. That’s 100 calories which = 1.1g fat, 19.5g carbohydrates, and 8.2g protein (according to my lose it app which I track my food intake on). Now to get 100 calories out of steak you need to consume approx. 1.25 ounces. Those 100 calories = 7.2g of fat, and 8.5g of protein. Again my sources tell me different than the picture here (also something about the cut of steak is to be said and how much trim is on it, but I digress). It is also important to note the difference in protein from these sources. With animal proteins you get what are called “complete proteins” they contain everything necessary for a protein to be complete . Plant protein is not a complete protein and is missing amino acids which helps with muscle growth, which there are vegetarian options to supplement this.
I mean no disrespect to vegans or vegetarians who have chosen that lifestyle by posting this, and by no means am I trying to dissuade them from their choice. This infopic is just missing some vital information.
